Taryn Brown

Taryn is originally from the small town of Waconia, MN. Even though she has lived in 6 different states she has spent most of her life somewhere in Texas! She went to high school and graduated from MacArthur High school in Irving, TX.

Taryn didn't grow up going to church regularly and it wasn't until after she met her husband Jim that she discovered God's love for her. It was through her husband’s love for God that really begun to plant that seed of interest in finding out who Christ was. After becoming a regular of the Fellowship of the Parks Church in Keller, TX, where she lived at that time, she came to Christ and was baptized in March 2007. Through Christs love many past hurts and wounds begun to heal and a true relationship with Christ was in the making. Her and her family immediately plugged into their church and begin serving and participating in home groups.

We moved to Galveston August 2008…6 weeks prior to Hurricane IKE!! After the hurricane the island was changed and so was many of the churches of the island. We had a difficult time finding a church that felt like home. We attended many different churches all over the island until we found Redline. We learned during the process of trying to find a church home the importance of being a part of the body of Christ. They immediately knew Redline was their home from their very first visit. Since coming to Redline her Relationship with Christ has grown exponentially! They immediately got plugged into a grow group and are now currently hosting one in their home.

Taryn has worked with children one way or another for most of her working life. However, it took working for American Airlines for 10 years to realize that she was called to be a teacher. After graduating from Texas Woman's University in Denton in 2008 with a degree in Education her first teaching job brought her to Hitchcock, TX and her family relocated to Galveston 6 weeks prior to hurricane IKE. Since working with children is what she was called to do it was only natural for her to jump right in and teach in the Children's Ministry and now currently serving as the Director of the Children’s Ministry. Even though she never saw herself as a leader Christ did and she looks forward to continuing to step out of her box and growing in this ministry!!
